Ché Zara Blomfield is a writer and curator born in New Zealand and based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. She is the founder of the art centre the Composing Rooms (est. London 2010) and co-founder of Baron Magazine (est. 2012) and Jelato Love (est. 2018, Palma de Mallorca). Ché has also held positions as Director of Neumeister Bar-Am (2013-2017) and Events Curator at Spike Art Magazine (2017-2018).

Her 2012 curatorial program in London, which was supported by Arts Council England, featured eight artists in what was to be their first solo exhibitions in the UK, including Petra Cortright, Jon Rafman, Kate Steciw, and Artie Vierkant.

Group exhibitions curated by Ché have taken place around the world, including an exhibition in a Miami hotel room including artists Brad Troemel and Kate Steciw, Repeat Pattern with Simon Denny, Katja Novitskova, Carissa Rodriguez and others in Auckland, New Zealand, Open Shape with Jasper Spicero in New York, Material at Welcome Screen in London, Not Abstraction at Yves Klein Archives in Paris, Three Rooms in Amsterdam, and Windoes and Thirsty Garten in Berlin.

Baron Magazine was co-founded by Ché Zara Blomfield, Jonathan Baron, and Matthew Holroyd and received extensive press since launching in 2012. iD Magazine described it as “the most beautiful magazine on erotica” while Dazed & Confused wrote that it “occupies an unclaimed space between pornography and art”. Since 2012 they have worked with esteemed artists and fashion photographers including Harley Weir and Petra Collins.
